Building game editor - Best way to save/export levels?

I’m working on my level editor (match3 game). It works on iPad. So im thinking of the best way to save/export my levels (json). I’m also thinking of keeping the editor as part of the game, so my players will be able to play and share the levels.

My first thought was to integrate some kind of file share service (Dropbox or google drive) so I can easily get the levels I have been creating.

Any suggestion/tips?

Thanks!

you can use flatbuffers for small file size, it already with cocos2d-x.

Hi, thanks for the tip. Flatbuffers seems cool and I will definitely use it. But I dont get how Flatbuffers will allow me to share the document with the level. Does it have a way to connect to google drive or dropbox?

I can easily create a file in the device, but I want an easy way to get access to it from other devices. It also would be awesome to allow me to load (level) files from a shared dropbox/google drive folder.

Thanks!

i think they all have API.
dropbox : https://www.dropbox.com/developers-v1/core
google: https://developers.google.com/drive/v3/web/quickstart/dotnet#step_3_set_up_the_sample
just implement it on C++.
here somethink on google : Dropbox C++ API: http://www.programmableweb.com/sdk/dropbox-c-library-daniel-eder
or if you have a server so you can write your self some small server upload code for it.

yeah, that was my first thought. I want to use dropbox but there is no C++ API. Then I checked SDKBox but there is no integration with it. Thats why I decided to ask here in case there is an easier way to do it. I guess I will try with Playfab, as i’m planning to use it for backend anyway.
Thx!
