There’s a post that helped me; not sure how to link to an individual post in a thread, so reproducing it here…
Step one:
Go into the cocos2d_libs.xcodeproj, then goto its /properties/Build Phases tab, and follow trojanfoe instructions: How to compile with Xcode 7
[edit] (thanks prespondek) Also goto the Build Settings tab, search for ‘Enable Bitcode’ and set it to ‘NO’.
Step two:
Go into the parent (your project .xcodeproj) then goto its /properties/Build Settings tab/ and find the Other Linker Flags entry and add “-lz -lsqlite3” without quotes.
[edit] (thanks prespondek) Also in Build Settings, search for ‘Enable Bitcode’ and set it to ‘NO’.
You have todo this in both cocos2d_libs.xcodeproj and your_project.xcodeproj.
Step three:
Make sure that libsqlite3.dylib (or any .dylib files) and any .framework files are not in your project, in both the xcode project explorer and in finder.
Step four:
Clean and build.
