Do you have to program in JS when it comes to android development?

The title almost says it all. Do you have to program in JS for android development or can you just use c++?

Using JS doesn’t have anything to do with the platform you’re targeting.
Of course, you can use JS if you want to.

Maybe you’re confusing JAVA and JAVASCRIPT.

Java is the native programming language for android (as Objective-C is for iOS).
Both platforms can use c++ code which is cocos2d-x’s main language.
Cocos2d-x uses javascript (or lua) for scripting purposes. Those scripts are interpreted by the c++ part of cocos2d-x.

Choosing JS over C++ is rather a question of coding style than targeted platform.

Well unless you are targeting web too :smiley: but apart of web c++ and js has the same supported platforms because the reason mausmaus said.
