Do you want AdMob?

It has been mentioned that folks here want AdMob support in SDKBOX.

If you want it, tell me why. Tell me what it offers you that other solutions don’t?

Is it simply that it is a banner ad solution?

More options for ad networks is better.

And Admob is definitely worth trying out in your game if you want to show interstitial (static/video) or banner ads.

I think developers should test out different ad networks and see which generates the best revenue and user experience for their specific app. Don’t just take the opinion of what someone said was working for them 6-months ago and assume that is the ad network you should use.

Just as a suggestion:

Why not add a real-time mediation SDK instead, which integrates the major ad frameworks(including AdMob)?
Just like AdtoApp https://adtoapp.com/

Does SDKBOX has an alternative service to AdMob for that purpose?
What will you recommend to use instead of AdMob?

(Asking, because I have little experience with SDKBOX)

We definitely want it. I used SonarCocosHelper’s ADMob, but because it’s preloading ads functionality(interstitials) does not work(although i wrote it to their forum on August 26, still no solution) and i can’t use ADMob ads since then.(ADMob banned our ads, requires preload.)
SonarCocosHelper Forum

So we need it urgently:)

as Heyalda said … more options is always interesting. Some networks pay lower than AdMob. I have had great experience with AdMob and its reliable enough (stable).

AdMob fillrate is very good in many countries.

@iQD
I would agree with you on this option, I’m using appodeal myself and its very good.

We are putting out an AppoDeal SDKBOX plugin at the end of October.

What are the pros/cons of AppoDeal compared to AdtoApp?

This is essential :-
1:- This is by far the largest and trustable Ad Network in the world.
2:- Admob Ads are available for both iOS and Android where as iAd is not.
3:- Admob has the largest Ads Mediation Network.
4:- Ads fill Rate is good.
5:- Admob Admin panel’s data presentation and statics is much more developer friendly than other networks Admin panel.
And many more strong points it has if we consider .

Please Consider AdMob support in SDKBOX .

Can you please be more detailed about your claims?

Says who?

So are others. iAd is Apples onw ad network, so no bug surprise here.

Says who?
Can you please provide a source?

What does good mean? 50%? 75%? 99%?

Since when do presentations statistics target a developer? It should be marketing friendly.
Which others?

Which are?

We do offer an SDKBOX Fyber, that is also a mediation service.

Do you think that Fyber offers enough functionality similar to what AdMob does?

Something gone wrong with my previous reply:)

So from our experience ADMOB is biggest and most suitable Ads network in the world, biggest fill rate with decent eCPM rate comparing to any other network.

I will add my assumptions to @iQD questions:

  1. Google=Admob so it is trustable

  2. He probably means that you can have 1 admob account to server ads for both platforms.

  3. Admob really have largest mediation networks support, maybe interface not that nice, but it really works https://developers.google.com/admob/android/mediation-networks

  4. Fill rate, Admob can cover over 95% of the world traffic with good eCPM rates, when other networks was able to cover only 15-30% with low eCPM

  5. Admin panel is clear, but nothing special

Regarding Admob, for mediation it using Adapters + other networks SKD’s, so it means if SDKBOX will add Admob support, to add additional network user would need only to add adapter and SDK itself.

I would like to have also DFP support in that case, it is more advanced admob version, which uses almost same classes and same integration steps as Admob, but it have huge setup options in control panel.

P.S. also one of biggest advantages for Admob& DFP that they are part of google play services on Android so no extra SDK needed to support it.

Well, Google just bought them a while ago. The name itself does not assure trust. Volkswagen anyone?

It is just a plus, if you are targeting iOS and Android.

There are other ad networks out there, that include Admob itself plus many others. So that other solution would provide even more networks.

There are solutions, which claim to have a fill-rate of 99%-100%.

It should be functional as well

By integrating a real-time mediation framework, you would only need to integrate one framework, as they include all ad networks including AdMob. No adapters needed.

They calculate the best eCPM in real-time based on time, location and content.

iQD seems clueless about what he/she is asserting and annoys me slightly the way he/she dissect other’s reply. I would forgive you if you are not on the cocos2d-x team.

AdMob has become the de facto standard revenue generator for many publishers seeking to go overseas in China.

Cocos2d-x team is much better off consulting the publishing team of Chukong. The list of good ad providers are limited and their effectiveness not hard to verify at all.

AdMob seems a must to me.

I don’t think you know, what this is all about: Discussion! As the URL would have told you!
It seems that you are someone, that falls back into “insulting mode”, if you are all out of arguments to join a discussion. I can totally understand, that being unable to discuss something can be annoying.

What makes you think, that I’m on the cocos2d-x team? You just added a “didn’t make my homework” to your insulting attitude.

It even makes me shudder more, that you won’t forgive a cocos2d-x team member, if it would discuss something or argue for/against something.

But how “noble” of you, that you are forgiving me, because I’m no member.

Again. Says who? You? You don’t back your claim with arguments!
Can you please provide a source?

If it was one, AdMob would be used by the majority of developers and publishers, would have the highest fill rate and generate the highest revenue. This is just a bold claim, nothing more.
But I’m totally sorry, that I attacked your AdMob fanboyism.

There were more PlayStations sold than XBox Ones. That “surely” makes the former a “de facto standard”.

How would this help in this situation?
I ask to better consult their “Ad framework task force”.

Then why you don’t provide that list and back your claim, that it is limited and the providers are limited in effectiveness.
It should not be hard to verify, as you stated yourself.
As you did not provide anything, it seems it was not that easy for you, no?

Here we have it. For YOU! It’s your opinion, not a fact!
You are so backing AdMob and now it just SEEMS to be a must? The de facto standard? It seems that you are not that convinced about it then.

You made your standpoint clear, I made mine. The difference between you and me is, that I don’t insult people for posting theirs, asking politely why they think that way and try to discuss the topic.

If discussing things annoys you, I would suggest to look/post anywhere else, which does not have that one thing in mind called DISCUSSION!

Thank you!

@iQD @hohohmm Conversation and debate are healthy, but let us learn to dial back before we name call.

So, Fyber is a mediation service does it offer enough functionality similar to what AdMob does?

Sure, but if someone starts insulting me, I would have all the rights to fight back on the same level. The offender chose the level of communication, not the other party.

It does offer more functionality and I think of a more convenient way.

  • Fyber supports server to server communication, but not AdMob.
  • Fyber only needs one SDK, not every ad provider SDK you want to
    use, as AdMob does.
  • Fyber supports more ad networks. It even includes AdMob itself.
  • Fyber supports the same ad formats
  • Fyber maybe has better revenue share
  • Fyber is a German company, so EU laws apply to them.

Ah, indeed, I had forgotten about this. Thanks for pointing it out.

@slackmoehrle @hohohmm @iQD
Ad Network Mediation service is always a better option in my opinion. I have used MoPub in Native Android Application but have no experience on Fyber. Fyber is also Mobile Ad Server and RTB I guess. However Banner ad Format is missing in Fyber offerings. That is one we have to compromise.

As my friend @iQD mention in comments “Fyber only needs one SDK, not every Ad provider SDK you want to use” this may be better over MoPub.Because MoPub need every Ad providers SDK and there Mediation adapters separately to integrate.
