Hello!
I have some spritesheets in .png format. I wonder how can I make an interpreter for this spritesheets?
This is one of those images. I got other spritesheets with the exact format, now how can I make an interpreter for this spritesheet layout?
I don’t want a plist file…
THANKS A LOT
You can make a spritesheet in Cocos Studio, Texture Packer and other tools.
You can probably look at SpriteFrameCache::addSpriteFramesWithFile(); for a look at what we do under the hood to read in files. Although, we do use .plist.
So there’s no way i can use this file without adapting it for cocos? The problem is that I got over 100k of this files and I was wondering if anybody has attempted to create a spreadsheet interpreter.
if you have 100,000 spritesheets, that is truly amazing.
Let Texture Packer do the work for you…

As @slackmoehrle said, we can pack our sprites in sprite sheet using those tools. You overall combined size would be significantly decreased. You will get json our xml, which you can partse in cocos using available API which he wrote and call each frame in a loop for animation by it’s name which is automatically mapped to correct sprite in the sprite sheet inside json
