How to improve scrolling for TableView cocos2dx v3.2?

Hello everyone! My friend and I have chosen to use TableView (We are using cocos2dx v3.2) to list our achievements, however it seems that we have too many. People who have given us feedback have commented that slowly scrolling through them all is quite tedious.

We’ve decided that we can either add Inertia Scrolling (link) (I believe that this is the one where you flick the screen and it scrolls really fast and slows down an stops eventually, please correct me if I am wrong lol)
… or make the Vertical scrollbar visible when players touch the screen so that they can use that to scroll instead.

However, although I have seen a function called setInertiaScrollEnabled in ScrollView (which I understand is the parent of TableView), it seems that TableView does not inherit such a function. Mainly we are confused and curious on how to access a parent (ScrollView) function from the child (TableView).

If you guys know anything that could help (either with InertiaScroll or the vertical scrollbar) please post here!

Thank you for reading and have a nice day!

hi @Zenriff

I am quite sure the inertia works really well on table view also.
As a matter of fact, currently I am working on a project, where I am using TableView
Just go through the cpp-tests

cocos2d-x-3.6\tests\cpp-tests\Classes\ExtensionsTest\TableViewTest

and you will be able to use the inertia also.

Hope that helps.
Happy Coding

Hi guys, the issue has been resolved. I feel silly, didn’t know that “tableView->setBounceable(false);” results in the inertia scrolling being disabled as well. We thought that it would prevent the list from being dragged upwards anymore at the end. But yes, commenting out the code fixes it.

Thank you pabitrapadhy for pointing out the location of the relevant cpp-tests : )

glad that your issue is solved…
