Hi, if Cocos2d-x v3.6 requires OpenGL 1.5, a game made with it would just run in OpenGL 1.5 computers/mobiles? Can’t I use Cocos2d-x to make a game for OpenGL 1.0/1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4?
Supposing that I can’t, could I use an old version of Cocos2d-x? What version exactly? Can I develop for Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, iOS and Windows Phone using this old version it? Thank you in advance!
I think cocos2d-x v1.x should work Ok with older versions of OpenGL since it doesn’t use shaders…
I thought that shaders were introduced in OpenGL 2.0 (and not in GL 1.5)… but I could be wrong.
Thank you for the answer! I tried installing Cocos2d-x v3.6 and it asked for OpenGL 1.5, but I don’t have a video card, actually I think it’s weird to need a video card to run 2d games, that’s why I wonder if I need the video card ONLY to make the game, and I can RUN the game on computers without video card?
About cocos2d-x v1, where can I download it? Can I use it to develop for Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, iOS and Windows Phone?
