b2 or Physics...?

Hi!

I am looking at some books and have noticed that some use something like b2Body and some use PhysicsBody.
Why are they using this b2 instead of this new Physics thing? What is the difference and what is better/smarter to use>?
Thanks!

Box2d has been around a long time, so has Chipmunk. Technically speaking, our built in Physics is Chipmunk based. Coming in v3.11 (or if you pull from GitHub) @ricardo has upgraded the engine to the latest Chipmunk 7.x which has a lot of performance enhancements, etc.

For me, I use the built in Physics as I feel I always know what I am getting. I know when it is being updated, I know we also take great pains to ensure backwards compatibility in the API whenever we can.

Other than that, someone else who is more familiar with Box2d can shed some light on why they use it over Chipmunk.

box2d seems to be more popular than chipmunk.
chipmunk seems to be faster than box2d.

personally, I prefer chipmunk, but both are very good physics engines.

I prefer C plus plus style in box2d.
chipmunk is a very fast beast written in plain C (I think)
