Bug: Spriteframe rect changing when using camera on iOS device

I’m hoping someone can help me with this because it’s causing me a big headache, basically when I load a sprite atlas that is generated from texture packer in to the sprite frame cache. If I move my camera (orthogonal) in the Y axis the rect for sprite frames appears to be offsetting itself 1 by pixel. It doesn’t happen consistently every frame, but maybe every 4-5 frames. There is a visible offset of the spriteframe and I know the rect is changing because I can see the first line of pixels from the frame above that frame getting drawn. I’ve tried every option in texture packer and I’m convinced that’s not the problem. I’m 99% it’s something going wrong in the Cocos2D-x engine.

This issue only seems to be happening for me on an iOS device as I’ve tested in the iOS simulator and on Windows, it should be fairly simple to reproduce, export a texture pack with a few images. Run it on an iOS device, I used iPhone 4S. Then move the camera every frame on the y-axis, I moved it up.

I’m hoping one of the devs can help me fix this as I’m not so good at the inner workings of Cocos2D-x. My first thought was floating point innacuracies in the shader or something. @slackmoehrle?

something like this sounds like a bug. Can you create an issue in GitHub please and send me the URL?

And you are using the engine’s Camera not a home-rolled camera class?

I’m using the engine’s camera, sure I’ll make an issue for you.

Thanks. I can ask someone to take a look at this.

Hey @slackmoehrle https://github.com/cocos2d/cocos2d-x/issues/12847

Thank you.
