I made 2 animations in Cocos Studio Animation Editor in separate projects.
Now I want to combine them together in 1 project and continue my animations. is it possible and how?

I imported the files from the other project in the resource panel and tried a lot of things but nothing happend.
would be awesome if you guys can help me

thx in advance

I don’t think it might be possible. However, if the separate projects are cloned from the same remote Git repository and the animations reside in the same .csd file, then maybe it might be possible to merge.

hi duracellrabbid
thx for the response
unfortunately I did not clone the file. I created a new project for the second animation.
If I had known this befor…arg…
I will try your suggestion in the future

Just a little note here, I did not personally try the solution I proposed before. But because the .csd files are saved in XML format, they should be able to merge without an issue. Unfortunately, we will only know whether it works or not in the future when someone else tried it.

if they has the same objects in separate animation . the answer is yes, if not, you’d better not do this.
the keys of same is object’s type, name, “ActionTag” (just in Cocos Studio 2.x), you can check actionTag in .csd, or .json

  1. move the all frames in the second project after the first project’s last frame index, you can drag all the frame in Cocos Studio, save it.
  2. copy the content in second .csd’s <Animation > </Animation>, paste it to the first .csd’s end of <Animation > </Animation>… Then open the csd in Cocos Studio, may be need add some Animation List, now the two animation has been merged .
