As per the data mentioned here [Multiple APKs][1] and to quote them :
“CPU architecture (ABI)
This is based on the native libraries included in each APK (which are determined by the architectures you declare in the Application.mk file) when using the Android NDK.”
multiple APK’s can be made for the same game for different architecture. This reduces the build size and hence increase the chances(however slim they are) of the game being downloaded.
I changed the architecture flags(APP_ABI) in Application.mk to create different builds for different architectures but when I upload it to Google Play Store, it does not detect it as multiple APKs for the same game but more as a replacement for the previous APK.
Has anyone managed to do this? If yes, then any help would be appreciated.

That is filtered in Google Play.

The multiple APK section is confusing. Google Play’s interface is confusing here as well.
When I was doing this, I was using Chat Support to verify I had it correctly configured. You need to use “Advanced Mode” while setting up the APK.
Again, the UI here on Google’ side is pretty bad but it does work for the users on Google Play. Hard to test, but it does work.
Regarding ABI types, I wouldn’t build x86 because most x86 devices that exist in large numbers run with ARM code fine for Cocos2d-x.
I had used the Advanced mode to upload the different APKs. After uploading the second APK it said it would replace the older one as it had nothing different when compared to the new APK. Also, I am building for x86 as without it the game was crashing on a Nexus 9 and Moto G(3rd Gen). What did you base the different APKs on?
BTW
you should compile each APK for specific platform in this case, for example x86 and armv7.
Also you should put different code versions in Android manifest for them like armv7 will have (1) and x86 will have (2).
When uploading apk switch to advanced mode and first upload lower code version apk and then second… Google Play will detect that they are for different platform and will keep both APK’s.

Tried this but it doesnt work. I set the flag APP_ABI := armeabi and when I uploaded the APK on the Google Play Dashboard, it said it was valid for armeabi-v7a & x86 architecture too. How do I fix this?
itself armeabi APK can be installed on armeabi-v7a & x86 devices, just will be less optimized. So when u will upload specific other platform it should divide builds.
Hi, i have this problem too.
I just compile with APP_ABI := x86
But, when i upload it to google, it said armeabi, x86 not only x86
I dont know why this happen.
Please help
Thank you
