SUD × COCOS Company Update: One Network, 2.5B Users, 90% of Mini-Game Devs — and an Engine Rebuilt for AI

Hey COCOS community,

We just published a full company update on where SUD × COCOS stands — and since this community is where the engine actually lives, we wanted to bring the discussion here. Here’s the rundown:

The business — Profitable since 2023, now at unicorn scale; SUD × COCOS integration is complete — one team, one business. — On the content side: the COCOS engine and IDE — completely free — now serve over 90% of mini-game developers. — On the traffic side: OpenPaaS, GI Cloud, and GI AD (all built on our Runtime core) serve 3,000+ platforms and 2.5 billion users, 70% of them outside mainland China.

The tech: an engine rebuilt for AI This is the part we’d love your take on. Most engines were designed decades before LLMs existed. COCOS’s two-layer architecture — C++ core facing hardware, JS core facing developers and LLMs — made it AI-ready by design. So we rebuilt from the ground up:
COCOS 4 and COCOS CLI are AI native releases, designed to let AI models understand and drive the engine itself. Not an AI assistant bolted on — an engine rebuilt so AI can drive it natively.
PinK, our dedicated agent and toolchain, makes packaging for every target platform an automated, agent-driven process.
COCOS CLI Cloud already powers AI creation platforms.

The people Nearly all core contributors to COCOS 3 have returned — some of them you’ll recognize from this very forum (the names in the team photo are their GitHub IDs). New leadership includes a founding member of Google DeepMind leading AI-native R&D.

The ecosystem The COCOS Store needs your plugins. If you’ve built a plugin, a tool, or an AI-powered extension — publishing it on the Store puts it in front of over 90% of the world’s mini-game developers.

A few things we’d genuinely love to hear from this community:

  1. What would you want an AI-native COCOS to do for your workflow first?

  2. If you’ve shipped plugins before — what would make the Store worth publishing on for you?

  3. Anything in the update you want us to go deeper on?
