I have stats display on via director->setDisplayStats(true); as a result I have some text.
One line has GL vert’s
another line has GL calls
And the final number has two numbers separated by a ‘/’
The data it gives me fluctuates so much, and seems to have lower numbers then what I expected. What is the left size for, what is the right side for?
First is “frames per second”, second is “seconds per frame”. FPS should be 60 (or less if game is not optimised). SPF doesn’t have to be equal to 1/FPS. You can’t get more than 60 FPS, so SPF can be lower than 0.016s, and you still get 60 FPS.
I get 50 FPS when SPF is 0.004s, and I feel frame drop (my animation is quite dynamic), so FPS is probably correct and the value of SPF shown can be wrong, but I didn’t check the implementation. You can look into cocos2d\cocos\base\CCDirector.cpp
