Hi, I am developing a game using Cocos2d-X 3.10 for Android and iOS and I am currently using Visual Studio to write the code and test it, before deploying on an actual device.
The problem is that I craeted a file to keep track of the users’ scores and I want to reset them by deleting the file. I thought that since I didn’t specify a path to open this file (the original one is on the Resources folder of my project), then Cocos2d-X should have overwritten it, but I just found out that this is not true.
Furthermore Cocos2d-X has saved this file somewhere, because the scores are being persisted, but I don’t know where.
Does anyone know what is the default path for saved files in Windows?
Is there a way to overwrite the files in the Resource folder without having to refer to it directly?
I did use this function and it gave me this path: C:\Users\MyUser\AppData\Local\MyGame and I did found the file I wrote there, however after I deleted it, my scores were still the same. Plus I did end up writing this file without using this function and now I am not sure were they went.
I found it! It seems that if I don’t specify where I want the file saved, Visual Studio saves it here: C:\Mygame\proj.win32\Debug.win32. Now, I was able to reset the scores.
Thanks for the tip on Everything, it is a great program!
